Open House

Touch-A-Truck & Aldersgate Preschool Open House - Join us for this free family-friendly event on April 23 from 3-5 p.m. in the AUMC parking lot. Touch-A-Truck is looking for trucks, cars, boats, tractors, and rigs of every shape and size to help us bring children up close and personal with the machines that build their world and the men and women who serve and protect them. Touch-A-Truck offers exhibitors the opportunity to interact with parents, children, volunteers, and the community at large. Our goal is that children of all ages and families will receive an exceptional experience with vehicles of all types: construction, public service, emergency, utility, landscaping, transportation, delivery, and more. Children will interact with their favorite vehicles, learn about the importance of safety, and meet the men and women who serve and protect our community. Food Trucks will be on-site for your dining pleasure. For more information on becoming a Touch-A-Truck Exhibitor, please send an email to Sharon Jennelly.

MISSION, PURPOSE AND PHILOSOPHY

Our mission is to nurture children in the knowledge and love of God and to surround them with steadfast love. Our overall purpose is to develop the whole child – spiritually, socially, emotionally, intellectually, and physically.

Aldersgate provides developmentally appropriate experiences in a Christian environment which will enable each child to achieve his/her full potential as an individual and in relationships with others. As part of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, families are always welcome to the abundant opportunities for Christian nurture and fellowship offered by the church.

Aldersgate Preschool’s curriculum includes both free play and guided activities. Language, sensory, motor and perceptual skills are developed through both child-centered and teacher-directed activities with an atmosphere for learning. Rather than religion being a separate part of the curriculum, it is taught by the teacher’s loving example, through songs and stories, and thankfulness for all of God’s love and grace for us.
