Chancel Choir Traditional Service in Sanctuary

The Chancel Choir has a rich heritage and is a vibrant part of the 11 a.m. Worship Service. The ensemble rehearses every Wednesday from 7:30 to 9 p.m. and presents every week in service. The 40 voice choir sings a variety of styles that includes classical, traditional, modern, spirituals and gospel. The Chancel Choir presents two annual concerts (Christmas/ Spring) and is always looking for opportunity to reach out into the community.

Mark Sobol is our very talented organist who makes the Cornel-Zimmer organ come to life as he accompanies the Chancel Choir each Sunday. New members are always welcome.

Gateway Ringers (Handbells)

The Gateway Ringers is Aldersgate’s primary Bell Choir and participates in worship and special presentations throughout the year. This dynamic musical ensemble is comprised of individuals with a love of traditional handbell music, as well as non-traditional and contemporary music. No experience is required, although some background in reading music is necessary.

Aldersgate Brass

An instrumental group drawn from the Aldersgate community to contribute to the worship experience by accompanying the Chancel Choir or as a stand-alone brass ensemble. The Aldersgate Brass rehearse in the Sanctuary on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.. New members are always welcome.

Vocal Impact (Grades 6-12)

Diane Shea, Director

Vocal Impact is a versatile group that sings a variety of styles. The group presents in worship regularly and joins with various other groups throughout the year. In addition to singing the annual Christmas concert Vocal Impact is the core group for the Youth Musical. This talented group of young musicians practices Sundays from 11 to 11:45 a.m. in the Music Center.

Youth Musical (Grades 4-12)

Janet Atwater, Director

The Youth Musical has energized our youth drama and music ministry. It has improved drama, dance and musical abilities of all involved. More importantly, it has helped us build community, fellowship and lead us to discussions about our faith. Recent productions include “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.”, “Alice in Wonderland” and School House Rock Live.

Graded choirs offer the children music-making opportunities weekly and participation in the church services throughout the year. We offer two children’s choirs, organized by reading ability. All children are welcome to participate.

Children’s Choir (Ages 3/4 through Kindergarten)

Heather Burket, Director

The Children’s Choir rehearses during our 11 a.m. Service. The group sings music that is energetic and fun for the children while increasing their musical skills. The group presents music in worship throughout the year and occasionally participates in our annual Christmas concert.

Junior Choir (Grades 2-5)

J.E. Hamer-Maansson, Director

The group sings a variety of styles of music and sometimes joins the Vocal Impact and Chancel Choir to sing large works. Musical skills as well as fellowship and support of one another are emphasized in Junior Choir. The Junior Choir rehearses Sunday’s during the 9 a.m. service and presents music in worship throughout the year as well as participating in the annual Christmas concert.
