MISSION, PURPOSE AND PHILOSOPHY

Our mission is to nurture children in the knowledge and love of God and to surround them with steadfast love. Our overall purpose is to develop the whole child – spiritually, socially, emotionally, intellectually, and physically.

Aldersgate provides developmentally appropriate experiences in a Christian environment which will enable each child to achieve his/her full potential as an individual and in relationships with others. As part of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, families are always welcome to the abundant opportunities for Christian nurture and fellowship offered by the church.

Aldersgate Preschool’s curriculum includes both free play and guided activities. Language, sensory, motor and perceptual skills are developed through both child-centered and teacher-directed activities with an atmosphere for learning. Rather than religion being a separate part of the curriculum, it is taught by the teacher’s loving example, through songs and stories, and thankfulness for all of God’s love and grace for us.
